Under NEW ownership from 2019 We are a small easy to navigate park of 52 pitches over approx. 3.5 acres of a tranquil, pretty landscaped area within the Dartmoor National Park. Significant investment has been made to the park notably newly refurbished high specification male & female washrooms with underfloor heating to the showers. Until 2018 the park spent 10 years as a franchised Camping & Caravanning club site (Teign Valley, Barley Meadow Camping and Caravanning Club Site), today, even though a private site, we remain proudly affiliated with the Camping & Caravanning club as a listed site.
A family friendly camping site for touring caravans, motorhomes, trailer-tents and tents. Ideally located with excellent access to many wonderful locations around Devon and beyond. Castle Drogo and Fingle Bridge are on our doorstep with their lovely walks and tracks, as is the ‘Two Moors Way’ (well trodden coast to coast walk).
Easily accessed from the ‘old’ A30 (which is now mainly a quiet local rural road as well as cycle route) providing easy access onto the main A30 just a few minutes away, thus making our site an excellent location to explore the local area and beyond. Devon’s historic capital EXETER is only 20 mins drive away or you can take the bus from our park entrance!
Our new footpath from the site gives direct walking access to Oinkers Farm Shop & cafe as well as a new beautiful cookery school with unique courses specialising in cooking seasonal and foraged food in a fun and interesting way, more information found at their website www.groundupcookeryschool.co.uk
Dog friendly (we just ask you keep your dog(s) on a lead when in the public areas) and have a dedicated secure ‘dog area’ especially for dog owners which enjoys fantastic views across to Drewsteignton and beyond.
For walkers, the popular ‘Two Moors Way’ is within walking distance of the park (accessed either via a short walk along the the road directly at the front of the site (note there is no pavement) or via the new footpath directly from the park then along country lanes), you can also walk directly into the small village of Drewsteignton where there is a local pub, Post Office and a restaurant.
Cyclists will also enjoy the many cycle tracks that Dartmoor has to offer making us a perfect stay for cyclists. More info
We also have a bus from the park entrance (6, 6a, 669 & 670 local services) this is simply a request stop. Full details can be provided from the reception onsite when you arrive, or the bus operator’s website link here. You can hop on the bus into the village of Cheriton Bishop where there is a shop (& Post Office) and the public house “The Old Thatch Inn“, the village also benefits a doctors surgery.
We have a selection of hardstanding fully serviced pitches (direct connection to freshwater and a wastewater point), hardstanding electric pitches, grass electric pitches and grass only pitches.
We very much hope to be welcoming you to our lovely location soon.
