*CANCELLED*Barley Meadow Touring Park, Crockenwell.

July 24, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - July 26, 2020 @ 4:00 pm

Barley Meadow Touring Park is located within the Dartmoor National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty and easy access to Devon’s many attractions. We are a campsite/touring park providing facilities for Touring Caravans, Motorhomes, Tents, Trailer Tents and we are dog friendly too!

Welcome to Barley Meadow Touring Park, our aim is to offer you a peaceful, relaxing, traditional camping stay in a location that’s perfect for exploring Devon (and Cornwall) just minutes from the A30. Small and very easy to navigate with just 52 pitches in 4 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds within the Dartmoor National Park.

Ideally located with excellent access to many wonderful locations around Devon and beyond, for instance the National Trust Castle Drogo and Fingle Bridge are on our doorstep with their lovely walks and tracks, as is the ‘Two Moors Way” (a well trodden coast to coast walk across Dartmoor and Exmoor).

We are accessed from the ‘old’ A30 (which is usually a quiet local rural road as well as cycle route) providing easy access onto the main A30 just a few minutes away, thus making our site an excellent stop-over location or perfect for exploring the local area and beyond. Devon’s historic capital EXETER is only 20 mins drive away (or you can take the bus from our park entrance!).

A footpath from the site gives direct walking access to Oinkers Farm Shop & Drake’s Cafe as well as a beautiful cookery school with unique courses specialising in cooking seasonal and foraged food in a fun and interesting way, more information found at their website

We welcome children at Barley Meadow however please note our strict policy prohibits ball games and we do not have a playground making us unsuitable for children who crave activity onsite, we urge you consider this before booking to avoid disappointment.

Dog friendly (we just ask you keep your dog(s) on a lead when in the public areas) and have a dedicated secure ‘dog area’ especially for dog owners which enjoys fantastic views across to Drewsteignton and the moors beyond.

For walkers, the popular ‘Two Moors Way” is within walking distance of the park (accessed either via a short walk along the the road directly at the front of the site (please be aware there is no footpath/pavement) or via our new footpath directly from the park then along country lanes), you can also walk directly into the small village of Drewsteignton where there is a local pub, Post Office and a restaurant (please note as you may expect being in rural Dartmoor most walks from the park involve their fair share of up-hill sections which may not suit some people and very young children, in which case a short drive to nearby Fingle Bridge or Castle Drogo provide alternatives or jump on the bus from Crockernwell Shelter (a short walk along the front road) which will take you further into Dartmoor, including Castle Drogo car park where beautiful walks await!

Cyclists will also enjoy the many cycle tracks that Dartmoor has to offer making us a perfect stay for cyclists. More info

There is a bus stop right at the park entrance (6 & 6A local services) this is a request stop. Full details will be provided at reception onsite when you arrive, or the bus operator’s website link here. You can hop on the bus into the village of Cheriton Bishop where there is a shop (& Post Office) and the public house “The Old Thatch Inn“, the village also benefits a doctors surgery.

We have a selection of hardstanding fully serviced pitches (direct connection to freshwater and a wastewater point),  hardstanding electric pitches, grass electric pitches and grass only pitches.

We very much hope to be welcoming you to our lovely location soon.
