Escot Park

May 15 @ 12:00 pm - May 17 @ 4:00 pm

Greenfield, own sanitation essential.

Enjoy the natural historical gardens and fantasy woodland which surround the ancestral home of the Kennaway family.

Here in 220 acres of parkland you’ll find an ark-full of animals with paths, trails and vistas, and everywhere beautiful flowers in their seasons, shrubs and magnificent champion trees. See the Birds of Prey, Otters, Red Squirrels and Wild Boar, get lost in our amazing 4,000 Beach-Tree Maze, visit the Termite Pavilion and try your hand at the Escot letterboxing challenge.

Every weekend weather permitting until 30 March 2014 from noon to 12.45pm the Devon Bird of Prey Centre will team up with Escot to thrill visitors with interactive falconry displays and bird handling sessions. Come and see perhaps the Goden Eagle, Owls, Falcons and Hawks. Check with the website for what is flying before your visit. Visitors may also book Falconry experience sessions to include bird handling and flying. Call 01404 822188 for more information.

Escot is also one of the very few places in the UK where you can see Red Squirrels in their natural environment. At Escot we have created a Red Squirrel Encounter featuring a 100m board walk allowing visitors to wander through trees to see these equisite animals at close quarters. Entry to the squirrel encounter is free and does not require Escot entrance ticket. Open everyday with an informative talk from 1pm – 1.30pm from our Nature Rangers. For more details visit the Escot website.

If you would like to see the Otter feeding and hear all about their habits and personalities visit Escot. Otter feeding takes place twice daily at 11am and 3pm. The otter feed and talk is free to Escot members. Non members will need to pay the regular entrance fee which includes all the other things that the park has to offer for a great day out.
